Improve Every Lesson Plan with SEL, 2021

Instead of a separate SEL curriculum, the author advocates incorporating social and emotional learning into lesson planning across the curriculum.  Students are immersed in an environment that develops “caring, joyful communities of learners whose experiences and skills can contribute to a better, more equitable world both inside and outside the classroom.”  Three broad categories of SEL skills are addressed:  skills for self, inter-personal skills, and skills as a community member.
