William and his family are packing the monthly box to send to the family in Cuba. Mom and Tia check their list that includes baby food, safety pins, soap, clothes, and medicine, among other needed items for their family. William wants to help, so Mother sends him off with a foot outline of his cousin Leo who needs shoes.  As William visits each family member, he learns a little about his cousin from each of them. Leo loves baseball - so does William! Leo loved to draw - so does William! Leo has freckles just like William! However, no one has any shoes that will fit Leo.  William heads home discouraged until he realizes that HE can help Leo by giving him a pair of his own shoes.

This story may inspire children to give of themselves to help others.
