Teaching for Transfer, 2023

Building on McTighe’s and Hattie’s concept of “transfer,” the author focuses on designing instruction to ensure learners can expertly apply their knowledge and skills to new contexts.  Three levels of learning complexity are addressed: (1) surface, (2) deep, and (3) transfer.  The first two levels can be leveraged to create transfer-level learning experiences to mimic real-world challenges.
