The Learning Principal: Becoming a Learning Leader, 2021

The authors note that evidence suggests that the principal is second only to classroom instruction among all school-related factors that contribute to what students learn at school.  Furthermore, conditions of teaching and learning in schools today heighten the need for principals to adopt a learning and improvement mindset. This implies that principals experience and model high-quality professional learning—professional learning that is long term, sustained, and standards driven; grounded in a cycle of continuous improvement.
