The School Wellness Wheel: A Framework Addressing Trauma, Culture, and Mastery to Raise Student Achievement, 2022

Wellness or well-being has taken on a new focus since the beginning of the pandemic.  Stress is high among students due to a number of factors.  The authors pose a structure that addresses the cognitive, social, and emotional components affected by trauma and stress.  The school wellness wheel is organized around mastery-based learning, trauma-responsive schooling, and culturally responsive teaching.
