Captivate, Activate, and Invigorate the Student Brain in Science and Math, 2013

The authors provide six essential ingredients for student success to captivate their attention, activate their prior knowledge, and invigorate their interest:

·       Prime the brain.  Stir.

·       Sprinkle in the right amount of novelty. Continue to stir.

·       Insert a good portion of relevance. Blend together with the content often.

·       Pour into the big picture and mix together some more.

·       Marinate for approximately 15 minutes; stir once more.

·       Allow to cook for two to three days, checking often for degree of doneness.  Stir as needed.
